So I watched Domino this morning. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421054/ Much better than I had heard it was. The visual style is offputtign at first, but once in the groove it suits the story well. I think what threw a lot of people was that, even though it used a real life bounty hunter as inspiration, it was a mostly fictional thriller-told by an unreliable narrarator. That last part is what I think most audiences had trouble with (see Randy Newman-"Short People" song) The quick cut editing and dark strange colors are also offputting IF you're expecting a certain type of movie. I personally found it a fun ride. I really wish more mainstream movies would take more chances with presentation as this one did. But as long as they're financial failures it ain't gonna happen.
